11 April 2021 Sermon Helps (Kids/Youth)

11am On-line Service 11 April 2021

Dear GCBC Parents:

We return to our sermon series in Romans this week, and the passage we will look at is Romans 8:14-17. These are beautiful verses about our adoption into God’s family when we believe in Jesus as our Saviour.

Some things to discuss with your children might be questions like…

        • How do we become a child of God?
        • What is the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives as children of God?
        • What do our lives look like as children of God?
        • What are the benefits of being a child of God?

When we become children of God and have the Spirit working in our lives, we no longer want to live for our sinful desires but for our Father in heaven. Acknowledging our sin and repentance from our sinful desires is a huge part of being a believer. We must pray and ask the Spirit to continue to reveal our sin to us and humbly walk by the Spirit’s work in our lives.

Another talking point with our children can be the permanency of becoming a child of God. Once we’ve been adopted into God’s family, we are His forever. There is great security, peace, and love in understanding this truth. Let your children know how this truth impacts your own life. I’m sure they would love to hear about it!

God Bless,

Mandy
