28 March 2021 Sermon Helps (Kids/Youth)

11am On-line Service 28 March 2021

Dear GCBC Parents:

This week’s sermon will cover Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem for the week of Passover from Luke 19:11-44. These verses start with Jesus teaching a parable about the kingdom of God, and then take us through Jesus riding on a donkey into Jerusalem with people shouting praises to God and the Pharisees telling Jesus to rebuke the people for calling Him king. Finally, the verses end with Jesus weeping over the city and people He loves but who have and will reject Him.

I’ve linked some great videos covering things like the kingdom of God, parables, and the last week of Jesus’ life on earth that we celebrate during Easter (well, and every day!). Take the time this week to watch these videos with your children and discuss what they think about them. Discover together the kingdom of God and why it is so important to our faith.

The “What’s In The Bible,” video speaks to Jesus inviting us to follow him. Maybe you could talk with your children about invitations…Why do we send invitations? What types of events do we send invitations for? Do we need to RSVP? What happens when we don’t reply? If Jesus is inviting us into His kingdom, what does it mean if we say no? What does it mean if we say yes?

I pray you have wonderful discussions with your children this week as we focus more intently on Jesus’ final days on earth. “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” (Luke 19:38 ESV)

God Bless,

Mandy
