KIDS and YOUTH MATERIALS

Dear GCBC Parents:

Where does our hope lie? We as believers don’t place our hope in this world but in the promises of God, especially his promise of an eternal future with him in his Kingdom. Jason will be preaching from Hebrews 6:13-20 on Sunday where we are told that this hope is an anchor for our souls.

I pray you take the opportunity to talk with your children about hope and how we are called to wait patiently for our hope to be fulfilled. This is a great time to once again share the gospel with your children and how faith in Jesus leads us to hope in our faithful God.

God Bless,

Mandy

Genesis 22:15-18 – “Then the angel of the LORD called again to Abraham from heaven.“This is what the LORD says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”” What is God’s promise to Abraham? Why does God want to bless Abraham?

Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” What is God promising in this verse?

If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” What is Jesus promising in these verses? What does he ask us to do while we wait for this promise to be fulfilled?

Romans 15:4 – “Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.” Why is hope important for Christ’s followers?
